ON-GOING PROJECTS:

Mission Moments - 1 to 2 minutes explaining a mission project of the United Methodist Church during worship. These are also placed in the Newsletter.

Food Pantry - Collect necessary items not included in regular food pantry donations (shampoo, body soap, etc.) Three times this year our church volunteered to give extra time to help set up and distribute items.

Visiting Shut-ins - They are visited at least once a month and the congregation is encouraged to visit or send cards.

Prayer Chain - Members of the Prayer Chain pray for those mentioned in the Joys & Concerns during worship, and also any other concerns requested during the week.

Care Packages for College Students & Military - Twice a year the congregation donates items like homemade cookies, popcorn, post-it notes, etc. to send to our students and military as a way of letting them know we care. We also encourage notes & letters be sent as well as keeping them in our prayers.

SPECIAL MISSIONS:

Heifer International
Obeying God's call to "let justice roll down like waters" (Amos 5:24), since 1944, Heifer International has helped millions of struggling families become more self-reliant by providing food-producing and income producing animals and training in their care. Rooted in Christian tradition, Heifer joins with people of faith everywhere to work for the dignity as well-being of all people where ever they live. Through the faithful support of churches and individuals, Heifer ministers to families in several ways: Helping Children; Enabling Women & Families; Caring for the Environment; Developing Community; and Passing on the Gift.

Barts Centenary has taken on the task of providing an Ark. An Ark is many different animals provided for a community. To Provide an Ark we need to raise $5000. In a sprite of love and challenge, an enormous member has issued a challenge. If we can get two groups in our church to donate $1000 each, this individual will donate $1000 also. Thast would give us $3000 of the require amount.

Migrant Workers

We are planning our annual visit for early September. You can begin preparing for the trip by purchasing men's sweatshirts, men's white socks, and items for the Helath Kits, like a bath towel, wash cloth, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste - those kinds of things.
