The Grape Pumpkin Festival is
an annual event that is held on the first two weekends in October.
The idea for this event was developed by Ron Hedges after traveling
during this time of year and coming to an area that was selling
pumpkins at a profit and doing a brisk business. Ron realized
that people in our area would probably be interested in something
of this sort. He brought the idea to the Barts~Centenary U.M.Church
Administration Board, and the idea began to grow. The church
raises most of the pumpkins and corn shocks that are used and
sold. The food is prepared by the church members. It has developed
into a church community of sharing and having fun.
The event is held on the property of Ron
and Aline Hedges on the White Hall road out side of Littlestown.
There are many activities that have become a part of this
event which include scarecrow making, hay rides, food, a
maze for the children, food, games for the children and more
food. There is a charge for scarecrows, pumpkins, corn shocks,
corn maze, craft items, and food. The admission, parking,
games,
and hay rides are free. It has developed into an inexpensive
fall
festival
for the families in the area as well as those traveling through
to the Annual Apple Harvest Festival. During the October
celebration, why not stop by and join in the fun?
